Bloodball is Ember Coast University's intense, high-stakes sport played by teams of 10. The objective is to gain possession of the enchanted Blood Orb—a glowing sphere the size of a basketball that zips around the field at incredible speeds. Players can imbue the orb with magical effects based on their chosen school of magic, altering its behavior as they strive to outmaneuver opponents.

Teams earn points for the length of time they possess the Blood Orb, whether through telekinesis or physical handling. A visible, untouchable strand of magic connects the orb to the player using telekinesis. Points are scored when the orb is thrown into one of three goals located at each team's endzone. Each goal varies in size and difficulty, with the largest goal offering a 1x multiplier, the medium a 2x multiplier, and the smallest and most challenging a 3x multiplier.

The playing field is unique for every match, featuring randomized environmental hazards and obstacles, and is sometimes themed for special events or holidays. While players do experience pain during gameplay, powerful restoration magic within the stadium ensures they do not become incapacitated. The field is its own living entity. Players can change the battlefield before their very eyes. With just a bit of magic and intention, players can alter the terrain as they see fit throughout the rush of the battle.

Positions on the Field:

Bloodball offers a variety of positions suited for both magical and non-magical students. Orb Keepers are responsible for maintaining possession and controlling the orb’s movement, while Throwers specialize in scoring goals from various distances. Defenders protect their goals from opposing players, using physical prowess or magic to block incoming attacks. Non-magical students can excel as Tacticians, strategizing plays and coordinating team movements from the sidelines, or as Support Roles, focusing on communication and morale. Join us for an exhilarating experience as teams clash in this dynamic arena of strategy, teamwork, and competition!
